For those of you who are planning to fly, we provide a shuttle from the Albany Airport to Southwoods in an attempt to make your trip easier.

You must fly into the Albany Airport if you need transportation to camp. We will be unable to pick you up from any of the New York City based airports, but will give you transportation details if that is the only connection you are able to secure. The Albany Airport is serviced by Air Canada, United, American, Northwest, Continental, Southwest, Delta and US Airways. If your arrival date is June 15th or 17th, please schedule your flight into the Albany area based around the following pickup times: 11:00am, 2:00pm, 4:00pm.

If you have any questions concerning this information please give us a call!! For those of you who are either group leaders, pre-season workers or a part of our TREK, or Waterfront programs, we encourage you to arrange your flight plans ASAP. Please plan these flights around the dates and times of your planned arrival. All flights should be scheduled to arrive in Albany prior to 4:00pm!

You can get to camp on Amtrak from New York City or from Montreal.

You will take Amtrak into the Ticonderoga train station. You may need to transfer in Albany. A Southwoods staff member will meet you at the Ticonderoga station (20 minutes from camp). The phone number for AMTRAK reservations is 1-800-872-7245 or you can make reservations online at www.amtrak.com (where the code for Ticonderoga is FTC)

By the way, the trip up the Hudson river on the train is very scenic and relaxing!

ALL BUS SERVICE IS DIRECT TO SCHROON LAKE AND WE WILL OPERATE SHUTTLES TO CAMP FROM THE SCHROON LAKE BUS STOP.

From New York City:

·Adirondack Trailways Bus Service from New York Port Authority-8th Avenue and 40th Street to Schroon Lake. Make sure you check the schedule as it changes each year in late June. 800 858-8555.(Tentative departure time is 10:30 am arriving at 4:05)

From Montreal:

·Grey hound Bus Service located at Central Station for buses at 505 Maisoneuuve East and Berri. ALL bus service is direct to Glens Falls and transfer to Schroon Lake. Please call camp to confirm arrival time. Call 514 842-2281 24 hours in advance to reserve a space. Departure time 7 AM.

·Adirondack Trailways Bus service at Central Station for buses at 505 Maisoneuve East and Berri. Call 514 287-1580 24 hours in advance to reserve a space. Departure time is 10AM.
